If you’ve ever recorded yourself for a video, you know how difficult it can be to film everything in one take. Longer videos often require multiple recording sessions and extra time to sort footage and cut out mistakes.
We know that filming yourself can be frustrating, so we set out to create a feature that makes organizing and managing recordings easier. Our solution? Multi-segment recording.
What Is Multi-Segment Recording?
Multi-segment recording is a feature that breaks down the recording process into smaller, more manageable segments or clips. Instead of recording one continuous take, creators can now capture multiple segments separately and rearrange them as they record.
After recording a segment, you can preview it before moving on to the next section of your video. If you made a mistake, you can easily re-record a single segment without having to redo the entire video. This gives you more flexibility to refine videos as you record and cuts down on editing time later.
What is Multi-Segment Recording Best For?
If you regularly use your laptop or desktop computer to record videos, this feature is for you. Multi-segment recording can help you create:
- Training videos: Refine and rearrange segments to create clear, concise training videos and other educational materials.
- Tutorials: Create polished tutorials and product demos by cutting out mistakes as you record.
- Customer testimonials: When creating customer testimonials, record a customer’s answer to one question per segment to help keep them organized and focussed on their story.
How To Use the Multi-Segment Recording Feature
Multi-segment recording is built into Visla’s video recording feature. To get started, open the Visla desktop app and follow these steps:
- Click the Video Recording button and record a clip. This will save as your first segment.
- Click “New Segment.” Each new segment will appear in the segmented recording interface.
- Click on individual segments to view or delete them.
- Use the drag-and-drop feature to rearrange segments.
- Once you’re done recording and rearranging segments, click “Confirm” to create your video.
